Aberdeen's Press and Journal newspaper are reporting that the Pittodrie club are considering an approach for Neil Warnock until the end of the season.

Warnock was most recently in charge at English Championship side Huddersfield Town, and has been clear in recent years about his preference for short-term jobs.

The 75-year-old has links to Scotland, and has spoken in the past about his desire to manage north of the border.

A stop-gap appointment would allow Aberdeen more time to find the candidate they believe can take them forward beyond the summer and deliver the stability they have lacked in recent years.
