Thanks to virtual tours, you can visit caverns, outer space, and national parks from home. If you want to explore another natural wonder, you can digitally deep dive into the Great Barrier Reef thanks to a virtual tour led by broadcaster and historian David Attenborough.

The interactive journey is called David Attenborough's Barrier Reef. As the narrator of Planet Earth and the Our Planet documentaries, Attenborough is the perfect guide for one of the natural wonders of the world. Plus, we could listen to his British accent forever.

In a short video at the beginning of the tour, Attenborough tells viewers how in the years since he first explored it 60 years ago, the reef has been reacting to a rapidly climate change. He then begins his interactive journey through the reef's "beautiful but threatened world." During the tour, you'll get to meet the ocean animals that visit the reef, learn about a state-of-the art research and exploration vessel, see the reef from its inhabitants' perspectives, discover its future, and learn some steps that can be taken to help save it.

The journey consists of five parts with videos, images, and text. During the first part, called The Perfect Reef, you'll learn more about the reef's biodiverse ecosystem, which includes 1,500 species of fish, 600 coral species and 30 different whale and dolphin species. The second part reveals how the reef is responding to changing conditions and its coral's natural defenses. The third part explores the weather and climate conditions that impact the reef, and the fourth part takes you to the southern reaches of the reef where the Heron Island Research Station is located. The final part explains how you can raise awareness about the state of the reef, maintaining it for future generations.
