Michy Batshuayi and Willian were on target as Chelsea beat Arsenal in Beijing to kick-start their pre-season tour.

The Gunners, who went into the game with a perfect record since jetting across the globe, carved out few opportunities as they were well beaten by their London rivals.

Antonio Conte named a strong side as Arsene Wenger started with club-record summer signing Alexandre Lacazette.

Of Chelsea's new players only Willy Caballero has travelled, but Conte opted to start Thibaut Courtois.

The plan for Batshuayi is to go out on a season-long loan for next season, but coach Antonio Conte may have to reconsider on this evidence.

Batshuayi was barely used last term after joining from Marseille for £33.1m, but of course hit the headlines by scoring the goal that clinched Chelsea the championship.

That clearly has given him a lot of confidence, which has carried over until the start of pre-season.

Conte would prefer to buy Fernando Llorente from Swansea, but with the Welsh club reluctant to sell, the Blues may struggle to acquire him.

That won't give Chelsea too much concern if Batshuayi continues to make an impact in games such as this.

Granted he was against an experimental Arsenal backline, yet he was a constant threat and scored fine goals in each half.

Anyone tuning in would have thought it was Arsenal's first game of pre-season and Chelsea's fourth judging by the difference in fitness levels between the two sides.

Conte's side had only played a match against Fulham behind closed doors since reporting back for duty, whereas the Gunners had played two games in Australia and then beat Bayern Munich on penalties in Shanghai in midweek.

The men in red and white can claim that their greater travel and action on the pitch, compared to their rivals, is the cause.

Regardless of Arsenal's deficiencies, those wearing blue looked remarkably sharp given their lack of playing time.

Just like last year, Conte has been giving the squad double training sessions to make them fitter than their opponents.

It certainly worked out as far as the Premier League trophy was concerned in May and while no-one should get too carried away, his methods are making the difference again.

This was not a direct head-to-head encounter on the field, but it was still a key battle to watch.

Reports that Chelsea are interested in Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has only one year left on his deal at Arsenal, have resurfaced again.

There is some debate over the veracity of their interest, however it was important for Moses to respond anyway.

Chelsea are looking for someone to compete with the Nigeria international for the right wing back role.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has played there before and did so again at the Bird's Nest Stadium.

But while he laboured and was beaten too easily in the build-up to Chelsea's third, Moses was far more accomplished.

It was certainly a far happier outing for him against Arsene Wenger's men than eight weeks ago, when he was sent off in the FA Cup Final.

Alexandre Lacazette still hasn't scored against David Luiz

Arsenal's new record signing has never found the net when the Brazil defender has been marking him and didn't come close here.

Luiz told Standard Sport earlier in the week that the north London club have made one of the signings of the summer by buying Lacazette from Lyon for £52m.

However, despite scoring 100 goals in Ligue 1, he never got the better of Luiz when he was at Paris St Germain between 2014-16.

It's obviously early days, but Arsenal fans won't have enjoyed the fact he was so anonymous.

Indeed, their team's performance as a whole showed they lack a bit of magic when contract rebel Alexis Sanchez is not in the squad.

Willian and Pedro can fill the void while Eden Hazard is injured

One of the main concerns Chelsea fans have is how the side will ever cope if Hazard picks up an injury.

They will get to find out at the start of the next campaign because the attacking midfielder won't have recovered from a fractured ankle, suffered last month, in time.

But they happen to have a pair of fine internationals in Willian and Pedro to take the strain.

Both looked good here. Pedro played less than half an hour due to a rash challenge by Arsenal keeper David Ospina, but was in good touch before then.

Willian, who was the one that missed out most when Hazard was in the first XI last term, capped a fine performance with the opening goal.

Noticeably, youngster Jeremie Boga also made an impact when he came on for Pedro. Perhaps Chelsea fans don't need to panic so much after all.
