Vasili Zelenov Commits To Wisconsin

Green Bay Gamblers forward Vasili Zelenov has committed to Wisconsin, it was announced Monday.

Drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round of the 2024 NHL Draft, Zelenov is in his first season in North America where he has collected five goals and 11 points in 18 games.

Prior to making the trek to the USHL, Zelenov played pro hockey in Austria last season with RB Hockey Juniors, putting up 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 40 regular season games.

With Zelenov expected to join the Badgers next fall, he has adjusted quite well to the smaller ice surfaces in North America. A skilled, competitive forward who puts himself in positions to succeed, Zelenov will be one to watch when he makes the jump to the NCAA.
