USC linebacker Osa Masina will not travel to Dallas for the team’s Week 1 game against Alabama after being suspended for a violation of team rules.

According to Fox 13 in Salt Lake City, Masina is currently under investigation by Cottonwood Heights (Utah) Police regarding allegations of sexual assault. The allegation is from over the summer; Masina is a native of Salt Lake City.

Cottonwood Heights Police have confirmed the ongoing investigation but have not released details about the alleged crime.

Cottonwood Heights PD, with the help of the Los Angeles Police Dept., served a search warrant last week at a USC practice facility in Los Angeles.

Per ABC 4, he’s also being investigated for an accusation in Los Angeles.

USC, which announced Masina’s suspension Monday, has not commented regarding the details of it. The Fox affiliate said Masina’s family referred the station to an attorney representing their son. The attorney also did not comment.

Masina had 25 tackles as a freshman in 2015 and appeared in USC’s first 12 games of the season before suffering a hamstring injury. He was battling for a starting linebacker spot with Michael Hutchings, according to the Los Angeles Times. Hutchings ended up winning the starting job over Masina.

Masina was a four-star OLB recruit in the class of 2015 and rated as the No. 3 OLB in the country and No. 2 player in the state of Utah according to Rivals.
