UFC heavyweight fighter Ben Rothwell had some choice words about Ronda Rousey, and boy, he didn’t hold back.

According to MMA Junkie, Rothwell wasn’t impressed with Rousey’s media blackout before her fight against Amanda Nunez, who knocked out the former champ in just 48 seconds at UFC 207. Prior to her bout with Nunez, Rousey, arguably the most accomplished female fighter in UFC history, indicated the highly anticipated showdown would be her final match.

“If she can’t come back from everything she’s been through and put on such a high pedestal and making waves, then she loses two fights and she doesn’t come back from that? Well then she’s a loser and she was never a champion,” Rothwell said during an interview on Sirius XM’s Fight Club.

“What’s she going to do now? What matters is six months from now if she walks away from the sport and never fights again, she never has to have her name brought up again,” Rothwell said.

Those are some harsh words from the 35-year-old Rothwell, who hasn’t held a UFC crown in his career.

Rousey released a statement to ESPN shortly after her loss, but it didn’t reveal whether or not she will return to the ring.

“Returning to not just fighting, but winning, was my entire focus this past year. However, sometimes – even when you prepare and give everything you have and want something so badly, it doesn’t work how you planned,” said Rousey in her statement. “I need to take some time to reflect and think about the future.”
