UFC on FOX 20 Fighter Pulled from Saturday's Card Over Potential USADA Conflict

UFC Fighter Flagged for Anti-Doping Violation While Under Suspension

UFC fighter George Sullivan has been pulled from Saturday's UFC on FOX 20 fight card due to a potential compliance issue with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.

Sullivan was scheduled to fight Hector Urbina on the UFC Fight Pass early prelims. UFC officials on Thursday announced his removal from the card, while the United States Anti-Doping Agency conducts an investigation into information that Sullivan voluntarily disclosed, which could be in conflict with the anti-doping policy.

Urbina will still weigh-in for Saturday's card as a back-up should the need arise for him to step in for anyone in either of the other two welterweight bouts on the fight card: Kamaru Usman vs. Alexander Yakovlev and Alex Oliveira vs. James Moontasri.

The UFC released the following statement on Thursday:

“UFC competitor George Sullivan voluntarily disclosed information to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) that could pose a potential compliance issue with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy. Out of an abundance of caution, Sullivan has been removed from his scheduled bout on Saturday night against Hector Urbina while USADA conducts an investigation into the matter. Urbina will still weigh in as a potential backup opponent should there be a need for him to compete in another bout on Saturday. Otherwise, he will be re-booked for another card in the near future.”

UFC on FOX 20 features Holly Holm vs. Valentina Shevchenko in a five-round women's bantamweight main event on Saturday at the United Center in Chicago.
