UFC on FOX 16 Fighter Bonuses: Dillashaw's Destruction Leads Bonus Winners

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to the house that Michael Jordan built – the United Center – in Chicago on Saturday night for UFC on FOX 16, which featured TJ Dillashaw defending his belt against Renan Barao and Miesha Tate earning another shot at the UFC bantamweight championship currently wrapped around Ronda Rousey‘s waist.

Dillashaw, in particular, put on a masterful performance against Barao, who was once considered one of the pound-for-pound top fighters in the world. But Dillashaw took the fight to Barao on Saturday night, outstriking him and lighting him up for a TKO stoppage early in the fourth round.

The champion impressed everyone, including the UFC brass, who awarded him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

The other Performance of the Night bonus went to Tom Lawlor, who made the move up to light heavyweight on the Chicago card. He had to come from behind to do it, but he rebounded against Gian Villante to scored a second-round knockout.

The Fight of the Night was a tough one, but was awarded to Edson Barboza and Paul Felder for what UFC president Dana White characterized as an “amazingly technical” stand-up fight.

Barboza earned a unanimous nod from the judges, but both men received a $50,000 bonus check.
