UFC Fight Night Abu Dhabi Gate and Attendance: Return to Abu Dhabi Draws a Full House

The Ultimate Fighting Championship made a successful return to Abu Dhabi on Friday, April 11, with UFC Fight Night Abu Dhabi, featuring Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Roy Nelson in the main event.

The event took place in the open-air du Arena on Yas Island, selling out to the tune of 7,963 tickets sold, producing a gate of $1.8 million.

“Another full house, sold out,” said Garry Cook, UFC Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa, before adding details about the massive reach the UFC has achieved in possible viewership.

“Tonight’s event was available in 325 million households worldwide; 170 million households in Europe, Middle East, and Africa; and on Fight Pass in 178 countries.”

By any account, it was a successful return to Abu Dhabi after having been absent since the promotion’s first event there with UFC 112 in April of 2010.

The fighters delivered as well, with Clay Guida and Tatsuya Kawajiri putting on an exciting Fight of the Night performance and Nelson scoring Performance of the Night honors with his stunning knockout of Nogueira.
