UFC Fight Night 71: Mir vs. Duffee Gate and Attendance Figures from San Diego

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the gate and attendance numbers following UFC Fight Night 71 on Wednesday at the event’s post-fight press conference. 5,471 spectators were inside the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, garnering gate receipts totally $412,000.

Former two-time heavyweight champion Frank Mir knocked out Todd Duffee in the fight card’s main event. The two former training partners slugged it out until one of them fell over. It was Duffee that ended up face first on the canvas 73 seconds into the fight; the result of a Mir left hook.

Eleventh-ranked lightweight Tony Ferguson logged a unanimous decision over ninth-ranked Josh Thomson in the co-main event. He hurt Thomson with strikes and battered him throughout the contest.

Fans in attendance also witnessed former multiple-boxing champion Holly Holm make her second octagon appearance. The bantamweight outclassed and outworked Marion Reneau on her way to a clear-cut unanimous decision.
