UFC 193 Results: Mark Hunt Knocks Out Antonio Silva Early

Derrick Lewis vs Mark Hunt Slugfest Set (UFC Fight Night 110 Weigh-in Results)

In a rematch of arguably the 2013 Fight of the Year, heavyweights Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva did it all over again on the UFC 193 main card in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday.

They fought to majority draw the first time around in a back-and-forth war, but the rematch didn’t make it out of the first round.

Both fighters were hesitant in the early going. Hunt stalked Silva as the Brazilian circled on the outside. He landed hard leg kicks waiting for an opening to present itself. Late in the round, it did.

The two exchanged punches along the cage. Silva tried to circle out of the pocket, but Hunt unloaded a straight right hand that landed on the side of Silva’s head and sent him falling to he canvas. Hunt followed up with two more punches before the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

Hunt entered the fight ranked eighth in the heavyweight division. The win over eleventh ranked Silva snapped a two-fight losing streak for the “Super Samoan.”

He thanked God and his new training camp, American Kickboxing Academy Thailand, following the fight.

“I want to thank Mike Swick and AKA Thailand,” he said. “I train really, really hard at AKA Thailand.”
