UFC 190: Rousey vs. Correia Drug Test Results Raise No Red Flags

The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission on Wednesday informed MMAWeekly.com that all fighters from the UFC 190: Rousey vs. Correia pay-per-view event in Rio de Janeiro were drug tested and returned no positive results.

Recently mired in controversy surrounding an out-of-competition drug test involving UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, CABMMA pointed out that all doping controls were performed in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List.

All athletes were subject to blood and urine testing.

“The urine and blood samples were collected by a team of Doping Control Officers (DCO), all of whom are certified in accordance with the WADA International Standards, and sent to WADA-accredited laboratories for analysis,” according to CABMMA Chief Operating Officer Cristiano Sampaio.

“All sample collections were conducted by personnel from CABMMA or the Brazilian Authority for Doping Control (ABCD), with representatives from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) present during the sample collection process as well.

“CABMMA has adopted the UFC Anti-Doping Policy which will guide all CABMMA testing at sanctioned bouts.”

UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey used just 34 ticks of the clock to knock out Brazilian challenger Bethe Correia. She will next put her belt on the line against former world-champion boxer Holly Holm at UFC 195 in January.
