Yahoo Sports UFC 187 Fighter Salaries: Chris Weidman and Anthony Johnson Top Payroll
The Ultimate Fighting Championship crowned a new light heavyweight champion at UFC 187 on May 23 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Daniel Cormier defeated Antony Johnson to capture the vacant title.
Middleweight titleholder Chris Weidman defended his belt for a third time by defeating Vitor Belfort in the opening round of the fight card’s co-main event.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission released the UFC 187: Johnson vs. Cormier salaries on Tuesday. Chris Weidman and Anthony Johnson were the highest earners on the fight card, banking $500,000 each.
