Tyus Battle sinks buzzer-beater to claim Syracuse's fifth straight win

Tyus Battle put another feather in Syracuse’s cap on Tuesday night by nailing a 3-pointer to lift the Orange to a 82-81 win over Clemson on the road. It was only Battle’s second made shot of the night, but it propelled Syracuse to their fifth straight win.

Things were looking grim after Clemson went on a 10-0 run to take a 61-53 lead. The Tigers eventually able to push the score to 70-61. Trailing by two with less than a minute remaining, Andrew White stole Clemson’s inbound pass which led to a pair of made free throws by Syracuse’s Tyler Lydon to tie the game.

This was the fourth come-from-behind win in Syracuse’s five-game streak.

This proves that the Orange is a force to be reckoned with. Despite making it to the Final Four last season, Syracuse didn’t have a lot of tournament buzz heading into its 2016-17 campaign. But after securing wins over now-No. 14 Florida State and No. 12 Virginia, they are playing like a team that is capable of not only making the tournament, but making a run once they get there.
