Tyra Banks left apologizing after mistakes lead to chaotic ending on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Monday’s two-hour live broadcast of Dancing With the Stars went great, right up to the last few minutes when it didn’t. Production issues caused some last-minute chaos and fans were quick to throw new host Tyra Banks under the bus.

Banks, who is also an executive producer on the show, replaced long-time hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews this season. The change in hosting duties was met with a lot of backlash from fans.

Monday’s mishap consisted of too many couples being up for elimination, and then confusion as to which couples were even vulnerable to elimination, with Banks having to call one couple back to the stage. Banks appeared to struggle with ad libbing through the moment, and fans were quick to call her out on social media.

Banks blamed both the “control room” and her cue cards for the snafu. She also apologized repeatedly for the mishap, citing “live tv” as an excuse. Ultimately, she was able to get the situation figured out and eliminate the proper couple.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
