Two nutballs scaled Rogers Centre's icy roof to fix a hole

I guess somebody’s gotta do it, but damn.

Two cape-less heroes had to scale the Rogers Centre to repair a hole that was caused by ice falling from the CN Tower Monday. These savage civil servants were captured battling the nasty conditions before summiting the dome and climbing into a mangled section of the roof.

If making your way up a retractable dome that’s been blasted with freezing rain and hail pellets for the better part of 72 hours isn’t risky enough (it is), let it me noted that these studs completed this terrifying job while it was raining buckets and as large chunks of ice continued to fall from some of downtown Toronto’s tallest buildings.

A winter storm that has shredded most of the Greater Toronto Area and wreaked havoc in much of the city’s core caused ice to built up on the CN Tower and eventually fell and pierced a fairly large hole into the top of the stadium. It caused Monday’s game between the Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals to be cancelled, which is the third day in a row the team has seen a game postponed after the final two contests of Toronto’s set with Cleveland on Saturday and Sunday were canned due to rain.

The dome was eventually patched up and things are scheduled to resume Tuesday. Next time you gaze up above at that beautiful retractable tin can, remember the brave warriors that make it all possible.
