Two motorcycle riders killed in a crash on a Fresno roadway are ID’d by the coroner
The two people killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday evening have been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
Michael Connors, 55, of Fresno and Arba Rene Smith, 50, of Clovis were named by the coroner after their motorcycle was stuck under a car, police said.
They were riding a motorcycle about 10:30 p.m. near Clinton and Chestnut avenues and collided with a sedan, police said.
Multiple 911 callers reported the collision and said it was evident the riders were seriously injured, police said.
First responders got to the scene and determined Connors had died from his injuries, police said. Rene Smith died a short time later at a Fresno hospital.
Police said they determined the crash happened at Clinton and Garden avenues and the sedan came to a stop at Clinton and Winery avenues, which is about a tenth of a mile away.
The motorcycle was stuck under the front of the car, police said. The sedan driver remained at the scene and spoke with police.
Police said they were working to determine if either driver was impaired in the fatal crash.
