Turlock stabbing victim graduated from Pitman High a day before he was killed

A Turlock teen who was stabbed to death just after leaving a house party has been identified as a Pitman High School graduate.

Dylan Dooling, 17, was stabbed during a fight between a group of males that took place in the 2000 block of North Daubenberger Road around 10:45 p.m. Friday.

Dooling’s friends called 911, and first responders provided aid at the scene. He was taken to a hospital but died less than an hour later.

The suspects have been described only as males in their teens to early 20s. No information about the number of suspects involved or what the fight was about has been released.

Dooling had just graduated from Pitman High School Thursday and was looking forward to starting classes at Modesto Junior College in the fall, according to a GoFundMe campaign for Dooling’s family that had nearly reached its $15,000 goal on Monday morning.

He is survived by his parents, a younger sister and a large extended family.

“He loved his big family and enjoyed hanging out with his cousins,” according to the GoFundMe page. “Dylan could put a smile on anyone’s face with his silly humor and infectious laugh.”

The homicide was the third this year in Turlock.

The Turlock Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to call Detective Frank Navarro at 209-664-7319.
