The Canadian tuxedo is as vital a part of the nation’s culture as beaver tails, Trailer Park Boys and whatever this Hellraiser puzzle box building is. So, naturally, it’s a perfect fit for a hockey jersey.

The Tulsa Oilers are wearing denim-themed “Canadian tuxedo” jerseys against the Missouri Mavericks on Friday night. The jerseys will then be auctioned off after the game.

Other teams have tried to pull off this look, like the Saskatoon Blades’ version six years ago. But these Oilers ones have that deep jean jacket look, the kind of denim you might see on someone that’s spilled a few beers while riding a bull in a cow patty-laced field at 2 a.m. Only unlike when they do the same thing in Oklahoma, it’s, like, really cold.
