TUF 19 Finale Gate and Attendance: Record Number of Fans Witness B.J. Penn's Last Fight

The TUF 19 Finale had the largest crowd ever for an Ultimate Fighter finale with 6,500 fans in attendance, UFC President Dana White said on Sunday.

The gate earned a total of $531,000 for the event, which was held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

In the main event, Frankie Edgar dominated B.J. Penn for the entirety of their main event. After grounding Penn in the third round, Edgar landed a barrage of strikes that brought an end to the bout via technical knockout.

The event also crowned two new “Ultimate Fighters,” as Eddie Gordon defeated Dhiego Lima for the middleweight crown, and Corey Anderson topped Matt Van Buren as the season’s light heavyweight winner.

Those in attendance witnessed the end of a legend, as Penn announced his retirement following his loss to Edgar.
