The Toronto Blue Jays’ bats have gone silent to start the season so maybe it’s time to bring some youth into the lineup to get the offense going — enter Troy Tulowitzki’s 3-year-old son, Taz.
The toddler stepped up to the plate during the Jays’ batting practice before their game against the Milwaukee Brewers while his dad, Toronto’s shortstop, played pitcher. It looks like the kid has been taking notes while watching Tulo’s at-bats as that swing looks awfully familiar.
Reports suggest Toronto hasn’t as yet offered the younger Tulowitzki a minor league deal, but given how poorly the season has begun, perhaps they should reconsider.
Off to a franchise worst 1-7 start, the Blue Jays offense has been sputtering out the gate, currently ranking 26th overall in hits and runs while ranking second to last in the Majors in batting average.
