Transfer news LIVE!

Tottenham have entered the race to sign Porto winger Luis Diaz, according to reports in Portugal.

Manchester United and Liverpool were both tipped to battle over the Colombian until an offer of around £37million was reported to have arrived from North London.

Neighbours Arsenal are turning their attention to Raul de Tomas after Juventus agreed a £63million deal to sign Dusan Vlahovic, with the Serie A giants now in advanced talks over the Fiorentina striker.

The Gunners are also looking at the likes of Alexander Isak, Jonathan David and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic another potential option up front and Georginio Wijnaldum a possible midfield addition.

Over at Chelsea, a potential move for Jules Kounde is back on the agenda with Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen all out of contract in the summer.

Manchester United seem to be focusing largely on outgoings, and Anthony Martial is set to complete his loan move to Sevilla after being pictured arriving in Spain. Jesse Lingard could also leave Old Trafford this week, with Newcastle making the midfielder their top priority.

Tottenham are confident of signing Adama Traore and could move for the likes of Franck Kessie, Mohamed Ali-Cho and Sofyan Amrabat as they desperately try to offload Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

Liverpool and Manchester City have both reportedly held talks with PSV winger Cody Gakpo, who is a target for Bayern Munich too. Pep Guardiola’s side are also believed to be on the verge of securing a deal for River Plate striker Julian Alvarez.

Palace keen on Van de Beek

21:48 , Matt Verri

Crystal Palace are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan before the transfer window shuts next week.

Van de Beek joined United from Ajax in the summer of 2020 but has so far failed to establish himself as a regular starter, with his situation not improving after interim boss Ralf Rangnick replaced the sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier this season.

The Dutch international is yet to make a Premier League start this term and is thought to be concerned about his lack of first-team football with a view to keeping his place in the Netherlands squad for the World Cup this winter.

Confirmed: Hodgson is new Watford boss

19:06 , Malik Ouzia

Roy Hodgson has completed a shock return to management after agreeing to take charge of Watford until the end of the season.

Watford have turned to Hodgson after last night sacking Claudio Ranieri, who managed just seven points from his 13 Premier League games in charge at the club.

The Hornets are currently 19th in the Premier League and they are on their third head coach of the season, after also sacking Xisco Munoz in October.

Hodgson, who is 74, will break his own record of being the oldest manager in Premier League history by taking charge at Vicarage Road.

Spurs make Tanner bid

18:30 , Malik Ouzia

Tottenham have made a bid for non-League starlet Ollie Tanner of Lewes FC, writes Dan Kilpatrick.

The 19-year-old winger has been training with Spurs’ development squad for the past fortnight, impressing coaches, while continuing to play for the Isthmian Premier Division club.

Lewes are due to hold a board meeting on Thursday to discuss Spurs’ bid, with the Premier League club not yet thought to have met the teenager’s asking price.

There is widespread interest in Tanner from a host of other professional clubs, including Brighton. The Seagulls are understood to have had a bid rejected that would have seen Tanner remain at Lewes on loan for the rest of the season, an option which has not been proposed by Spurs.

Lewes boss Tony Russell recommended Tanner to Spurs academy chief Chris Powell, who has been at the Dripping Pan, Lewes’ home ground, to watch the forward for their last two home matches. Tanner is in the squad for tonight’s home game against Cray Wanderers.

Spurs have a vacancy on the wing in their U-23 squad after selling Dilan Markanday to Blackburn Rovers last week.

Tanner, who is a quick and technically gifted player with an eye for goal, had spells at Arsenal and Charlton as a schoolboy.

“Daniel Levy is a difficult man to deal with, but if you don’t back Conte - looking at his history at Inter Milan - I think he’ll leave the club because you can’t promise and not deliver.

“Tottenham fans must be so frustrated because every year, they watch their team and everything is great with the stadium and training ground, but the team needs a bit of help right now. So back him, give him what he needs.”

Wenger: Clock is ticking for PSG on Mbappe

17:09 , Marc Mayo

Arsene Wenger believes the pressure is on Paris Saint-Germain as Kylian Mbappe ticks closer to his contract expiration date.

The former Arsenal boss told Canal+ in France: “PSG had a firm offer from Real Madrid. When you turn down €180million - even for PSG, that is still a huge sum.

“So, when they turned down this money, I think they said to themselves, 'We have to have a great season, we have [Lionel] Messi and we cannot afford to lose Mbappe, we will manage to convince him to stay.

“Time is against PSG. When you are in a situation like this, the longer it goes on, the more difficult it is to close it, given the experience I have.”

Fulham not giving up on Liverpool target Carvalho

09:30 , George Flood

Fulham have not given up in their attempts to tie Fabio Carvalho down to a new contract amid interest from Liverpool, writes Jack Rosser.

Liverpool are just one of a number of Premier League teams keen on the 19-year-old sensation, with Southampton having long-held interest and West Ham also linked.

Carvalho has eight goals and two assists in 17 Championship appearances this season and is a firm favourite of manager Marco Silva.

However, the attacking midfielder rejected a new contract offer in November and will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Fulham face a fight to tie the youngster down, a battle made more difficult by the fact that Carvalho, who was born in Portugal but has represented England at youth level, has recently split from his previous agent and enlisted the help of super-agent Jorge Mendes.

Silva is desperate to see Carvalho stay at Craven Cottage as the west Londoners push for a return to the Premier League, but a move to an established top-flight side - or one pushing for the title - may be too hard to turn down.
