Toronto sports fans show they persevere no matter the weather

A nasty storm ripping through the Greater Toronto Area and the downtown core didn’t stop fans in the city from turning out in droves to watch their beloved Maple Leafs and Raptors do battle in the postseason.

Jurassic Park was ‘closed’ due to the storm, and there was a leaky ACC roof which delayed the start of the Raptors’ Game 1 showdown versus the Wizards. These disastrous conditions, however, weren’t enough to keep diehard supporters of the Leafs and Raps away from the ACC as thousands of fans still showed up to the arena and nearby pubs and restaurants to cheers on their squads.

“I wouldn’t have cancelled [the outdoor viewing parties]. TFC fans, they watch in the rain, snow, no matter what. Football fans — rain, snow, no matter what. We’re Canadian and we want to represent that — we’ll stay out no matter what,” one Maple Leafs fan said.

It’s hard to argue the passion Toronto has for it’s sports teams — (freezing) rain or shine.
