Toronto mayor John Tory puts coffee, beer on line in TFC bet
Toronto mayor John Tory is already known as an ardent supporter of the city’s MLS squad, Toronto FC. In November, he unfurled a giant team shirt for Torontonians to sign before the team’s Eastern Conference Championship series.
On Thursday, he went even further by placing a wager on the MLS Cup, where TFC is scheduled to meet Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday at BMO Field.

At stake is the very Canadian Tim Horton’s coffee and Amsterdam Blonde beer. At the time of this writing, Seattle mayor Ed Murray had yet to respond to the challenge.
