This has certainly been an up and down week for Toronto FC striker Jozy Altidore.

Altidore was fined an undisclosed amount Tuesday for ripping the league’s officiating, saying "MLS refs are some of the worst in the world.”

On Wednesday, however, the 29-year-old had people talking about what he did on the field with this unbelievable goal he scored against his former team, New York Red Bulls.

That was absolutely brilliant.

It didn’t take him long to notch the highlight-reel goal, scoring in the fifth minute. And I mean, come on, he flicked that into the perfect spot.

Altidore has been heating up ever since returning from the United States’ loss to Mexico in the Gold Cup final. In the two games since, he has recorded two goals.

After defeating New York 3-1, TFC climbs to sixth place in the MLS’s Eastern Conference.
