Toronto sports scene is extremely excited about John Tavares
It didn’t take very long for the city of Toronto to welcome its newest Maple Leaf.
Fans quickly took their excitement to social media shortly after John Tavares announced his decision to sign with the Leafs. In fact, the city was so excited that the merchandise began flying off the shelves before the ink on Tavares’ new contract was even dry.
Less than an hour after the news was announced, one hardcore fan was spotted at Real Sports in Toronto purchasing the very first Tavares sweater in blue and white. He’s the first member of the Maple Leafs’ faithful to get his hands on Tavares’ new jersey, but he definitely won’t be the last.

It likely won’t be long before we see Tavares enjoying a Jays game in the TD Comfort Zone.
It’s very rare for a player of this magnitude to become available in NHL free agency, so when your city lands the big fish, that’s certainly cause for a celebration.
