Top 10 teams unchanged in College Football Playoff rankings

The top of the College Football Playoff rankings does not look any different than it did a week ago.

The 10 teams at the top of the rankings are in the same positions they occupied on Nov. 6. The highest-ranked change came as Central Florida moved from No. 12 to No. 11 after Kentucky lost to Tennessee.

Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Michigan remained the top four teams in that order. They were followed by Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, Washington State, West Virginia and Ohio State.

The lack of changes at the top of the rankings are a product of the relative lack of drama Week 11 produced. Every team inside the top 10 won and only Oklahoma, which hosted rival Oklahoma State, had a game that was close on the scoreboard.

The chaos happened outside the top 10 among teams who didn’t have a shot of sniffing the playoff anyway. Kentucky (only) fell six spots to No. 17 after losing at Tennessee. NC State fell from No. 14 to unranked after losing at home to Wake Forest and No. 16 Mississippi State dropped to No. 21 after getting shut out by Alabama.
