Tom Savage turns down draft invite

Former Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback Tom Savage has become a hot name of late.

As a result, the NFL extended Savage an invite to this year's draft ceremony in New York. However, Savage declined the invitation and won't appear at Radio City Music Hall on May 8.

"#Pitt QB Tom Savage has declined an invitation to attend the #NFLDraft in New York," the Pittsburgh football twitter account wrote. "He is one of the draft's fastest rising prospects."

It's probably best that Savage declined. He doesn't want to wind up in a situation where he's sitting in the green room late into the second day of the draft. That's no fun for anyone involved.

He might be someone getting some recent attention. But there's no guarantee he gets taken in the first round, let alone going early in the second.
