Yahoo Sports Tokyo Olympics TV schedule: Day 2 features debut of Team USA men's hoops, women's gymnastics
With the first full day of Olympics action in the books, Team USA is ready to unleash its highest profile teams on Tokyo.
Men's basketball and women's gymnastics will both make their Olympic debuts on Sunday. Team USA basketball will face its toughest test in group play with an 8 a.m. ET matchup against a France team that snapped the Americans' 58-game winning streak in the 2019 FIBA World Cup semifinals. Women's gymnastics, meanwhile, will compete (2:10 a.m. ET) in a marathon session of qualifying for the team competition, headlined by none other than Simone Biles.
Will American swimmers get USA on the podium?
After being shut out of the medal count on Day 1, the Americans will look to secure gold in the pool, with their best shots at breaking onto the podium arriving in the men's and women's 400m individual medley finals. And there will be plenty of action elsewhere, including beach volleyball, diving and the first skateboarding medal events in Olympic history.
NBC will carry much of Saturday's action across its networks including NBC, USA Network, CNBC, NBCSN, Olympic Channel and streaming service Peacock. Some of it, you can watch live. Some will be on delay thanks to the 13-hour time difference between Tokyo and the U.S. Eastern time zone.
