TLC has some exciting projects in the works!

During a '90s Con panel moderated by PEOPLE Senior Editor Breanne L. Heldman on Sunday, TLC’s Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins teased, “We’re working on a Broadway play.”

Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas jumped in and revealed that the duo has some Broadway heavyweights signed on for the musical. “The cool thing, we do have a lot of people that worked on Hamilton working with us for ours,” Thomas, 52, told the crowd at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida.

Watkins, 53, then hinted at another project she and Thomas are working on. “That means we’ll have music for the play, and a TV show we can’t talk about,” she said.

*NYSNC's Joey Fatone, who participated in the panel alongside TLC and Backstreet Boys' Howie Dorough and AJ McLean, joked that he wanted in on the musical.

“I wanna audition!” Fatone, 46, said.

TLC mentioned the Broadway show at last year’s '90s Con, but hesitated to share too many details at the time, including the opening date.

"We ain't gonna do all that now," Watkins said at the March 2022 event. "It's in the works, but we're writers so it's coming together."

TLC is not the only throwback music group making moves. McLean, 45, teased during Sunday's panel that “there’s something big coming” on the Backstreet Boys’ end, too.

“Like, it’s big,” he emphasized. “I can’t say anything more about it, but it’s big and it’s never been done ever before.”

McLean noted that the group will be back in the studio and pointed out that a lot of the band members also are busy pursuing solo projects.

Brian [Littrell] is doing a Christian album, Nick [Carter]’s obviously going on tour. I’m finally going to release my solo album after saying it for years. I know Howie is working on stuff,” the father of two said. “But we are actually going to be, tomorrow and Tuesday, going back into meetings to talk about next year.”

In April 2024, the Backstreet Boys will head to Mexico for their Backstreet's Back at the Beach performances.

“Probably within the last 10 years, we've done five cruise ship-like excursions,” McLean told PEOPLE last month. “We've done one in Europe, and the rest were ported out of Miami. We'd go out, either go to the Bahamas or we would go to a destination; we'd get off and then get back on the boat. You're on a cruise with 3,500 fans; you're doing deck parties, theme parties, photo calls, two shows, game nights.

"We were like, 'You know what? This time, we don't want to be in the middle of the ocean somewhere. Why don't we just keep our feet firmly on the sand and let's do a destination?' I mean, Cancún is absolutely beautiful."

The beach event will also feature performances by Jason DeRulo, parties and activities chosen by the band.

“We've got theme parties, we've got game nights, we've got performances with 30 songs that have now been picked by our fans, which is going to be interesting,” McLean said. “We'll see how many deep cuts pop up and how many songs that we've been doing, we can do again. But it's going to be fun.”
