Yahoo Sports Report: Titans first-rounder attended college party, nearly leapt from balcony when police showed up
A night of questionable decisions nearly got much worse for Tennessee Titans rookie Isaiah Wilson earlier this month, as a police report indicated he pondered jumping off a second-story balcony to evade officers, according to Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky.
Wilson, whom the Titans selected 29th overall in the 2020 NFL draft, reportedly attended an off-campus party at Tennessee State University. It’s unclear how many people were in attendance, but the smell of burning marijuana from the apartment reportedly drew the attention of campus police officers on patrol.
As the officers entered, Wilson reportedly got up from a couch and ran to the apartment’s balcony in an apparent escape attempt, but eventually stayed and received a trespass warning. Students at the party reportedly faced worse repercussions, namely drug, curfew and runaway violations.
This all comes after Wilson landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list in July, though that list only indicates if a person tested positive for the coronavirus or was in close contact with an infected person.

The Titans reportedly had the power to fine Wilson one week’s salary or suspend him for up to four weeks for conduct detrimental to the team, but the team apparently decided to go on in a different direction with the 21-year-old.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters on Monday that he had spoken with both Wilson and the entire team about their decision making, and said the matter had been handled.

Vrabel’s comments:
“We’ve handled it. I talked to Isaiah and the team, talked to him privately and continue to talk to the team and stress the importance of the decisions that we make outside the building as it relates to the people that we’re around because of COVID. Long before that, we’ve stressed to them about their behavior outside the building since I’ve been here. That’s something that’s important to this organization, to [controlling owner Amy Strunk] and to [Titans general manager Jon Robinson] and I. So we need to learn from it, continue to stress the importance that you’re not only talking about yourself in this case with the pandemic, but you’re talking about other players and their families as well.”
Wilson is currently competing with veteran Dennis Kelly to fill the Titans’ void at right tackle left by departing free agent Jack Conklin. He declared for the draft out of Georgia after earning second-team All-SEC honors as a redshirt sophomore.
