Thomas Brown wants Bears to be excellent, not perfect
The culture is changing under Chicago Bears new interim head coach Thomas Brown, and his mindset that he's bringing over the course of the remaining five games this season.
Set to coach his first game this week as interim head coach against the San Francisco 49ers, Brown met with the media for the second time this week on Wednesday, where he spoke about the mentality he has for this team, which is not perfection.
With his very passionate and straightforward type of demeanor, Brown said his mission will be to bring out the very best of every player that he coaches.
"I don't really care about them being perfect, I want them to be excellent." Brown said Wednesday. "I can nitpick at every single play and tell a guy how he wasn't perfect. Perfection is not the goal, it's to excel at your craft, use your talent, combine it with skill, and play for each other. So when the opportunity presents itself on game day, no matter who we play, we can play with no fear."

Just from a standpoint of coach speak, the tone inside Halas Hall and for the Bears is changing rapidly under Brown. However, speaking on things is one thing, going out and executing is another, and that's what Brown and the entire Bears team will be looking to do on Sunday in San Francisco.
