Thomas Brown believes in Bears coaches and players: 'We don't have cowards"
In his debut as interim head coach for the Chicago Bears, Thomas Brown did not have the impact that many were hoping, or potentially even expecting.
After several leaders of the team discussed a change in the culture around the locker room, Brown had some high expectations in his coaching debut, especially considering facing a 49ers team that were missing several of their top players.
Unfortunately the Bears got ran over in San Francisco, looking like a team that was completely lost and broken under their new interim head coach. The first half was incredibly bad for the team, with the offense putting up an embarrassing four total yards, and the defense allowing 319 yards.
Even after being blown out by a final score of 38-13, Brown believes the team did not quit on themselves and no matter how bad they lose, the team will continue to show up and fight.
"We don't have cowards in the locker room," Brown said. "We don't have cowards on our coaching staff. Regardless of circumstance we will come to battle every single day."
Instilling a "never say die" attitude will help morale, but it becomes increasingly obvious that players on the team only want to win at this point. The seven-game losing streak has been the darkest cloud around a team that came into the 2024 season full of hype and optimism. And while one primary focus has been on getting the team back together from a chemistry standpoint, they have to end the season with at least one victory, especially if Brown wants any shot at a legitimate chance to be the next permanent head coach.
