Thiago Tavares and Dennis Hallman to Square Off at UFC 150 in Denver

Ed Herman vs. Rafael Natal and Edwin Figueroa vs. Erik Perez Added to UFC 167 Fight Card

Thiago Tavares hasn’t fought since January; Dennis Hallman since December.

That’s about to change for the both of them, as they have agreed to square face on another at UFC 150 on Aug. 11 in Denver. Sherdog.com first reported the bout, which Tavares later confirmed via his Twitter account.

UFC 150 will see the promotion return to the Pepsi Center, the site of UFC 135 last September.

Tavares (17-4-1) is on a run of back-to-back victories, defeating Sam Stout at UFC 142, following a win over Spencer Fisher at UFC 134 last August. Both of those bouts were on his home turf in Brazil, so now Tavares will see if he can keep his roll going when he returns to fight in the United States for the first time since early 2011.

Hallman (51-14-2) defeated John Makdessi in a catchweight bout at 158.5 pounds his last time out. The fight signaled Hallman’s drop to the lightweight division, but he had a tough time losing the last couple of pounds, necessitating the catchweight.

He’ll make another go at 155 pounds when he squares off with Tavares in August.
