The UK's most expensive streets

London is home to the 10 most expensive streets in the UK, with Kensington Palace Gardens leading the way for the 12th consecutive year.

Often cited as one of the “most exclusive addresses” in London, properties in Kensington Palace Gardens cost close to £36m ($46.5m), according to property portal Zoopla.

The tree-lined avenue is dotted with embassies, diplomatic residences, and the homes of ultra high net-worth individuals, such as steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal and Chelsea F.C. owner Roman Abramovich.

Coming in second for the second year running is Courtenay Avenue in Highgate, where properties cost £18.6m on average.

An eight-bedroom detached house on the street, complete with its own swimming pool, leisure centre, and 24-hour gated security, is currently on sale for £17m.

Chelsea’s Mulberry Walk is the first of three new entrants, coming in at eighth place, with an average asking price of £9.6m.

Meanwhile, Kensington’s St Albans Grove, which has an average property value of £9.5m, and Egerton Crescent, with an average property value of £9.3m, come in ninth and tenth, respectively.

A five-bedroom flat in St Albans Grove, just a short walk from Kensington Gardens, is currently on the market for £9.3m.

Montrose Gardens in Leatherhead, Surrey, takes the crown as home to the priciest properties outside of London, with an average value of £6m.

In second place is Titlarks HIll in Ascot, Berkshire, with an average property value of almost £6m.

Meanwhile, in third place is Portnall Rise in Virginia Water, Surrey, with an average price of £5.8m.

Having become the UK’s first “million-pound town” — where the average house price across the entire town is £1m — several years ago, two other streets in Virginia Water also feature on the list.

North Drive comes in fifth place, with an average property value of £5.2m, while Woodlands Road East comes in seventh, with an average property value of £5m.

Woodlands Road East currently has a five-bedroom detached house on sale for £3m.
