Instagram influencer Gaurav Wasan, on his page, youtubeswadofficial, shared a heartbreaking video about an elderly couple in their 80s, who run a tiny eating joint in Malviya Nagar of Delhi.

The couple have been making simple, tasty home cooked food since 1986, and serving the people who would visit a Hanuman temple nearby.

But in the pandemic, their business had taken a beating.

“Even half kilo of mixed dal does not get sold,” octogenarian Kanta Prasad said, opening his handis to show Gaurav.

In tears, he explained how a Rs 30/half plate of yummy food was not getting sold.

This was yesterday.

The Instagram post got 12.1M views and 24k comments overnight.

Today, Baba ka Dhaba was thronged with people from all over Delhi, to show solidarity and support to the elderly couple who work so hard to keep their livelihood.

Today, we see the positive power of social media - and the good it can do in society.
