The Cubs' quest to the World Series gets 'Legend of Zelda' treatment

With the World Series finally in Chicago, there’s no shortage of interesting things the locals are doing to celebrate. That includes Johnny Fitz Live, the Cubs fan who has become a Big League Stew favorite the past two seasons, for putting Cubs spins on 8-bit video games.

And now, with the World Series turning to Wrigley Field for Game 3 on Friday, he’s given us his magnum opus. Behold his “Legend of Zelda”-inspired World Series adventure:

This is probably his best work, yet. And they’ve all been good. The previous vids include Card Hunt, Punch-Out with Mr. Met, Super Cubbie Bros. and Donkey Kong Cubbie.

This new one, though, is filled with great references both new and old — like slaying the Billy Goat and Anthony Rizzo using Matt Szczur’s bat to break out of his NLCS slump.

Johnny Fitz writes in his YouTube description: “Go Cubs, and as always, if you enjoyed the video, please feel free to use your considerable power and influence to get me tickets to the game.”

Somebody get on that. He deserves it.
