Texas Tech coach uses unorthodox method to monitor players

It’s unrealistic to think that a college football coach can keep track of all 85 players on his roster, but Kliff Kingsbury has an interesting trick up his sleeve.

During an interview with former NFL player AJ Hawk, the Texas Tech head coach admitted that he sets up fake social media accounts with cute girls to track his players. Invariably, the players will add the “girl,” allowing Kingsbury to occasionally track where his players have been or where they might be.

The 37-year-old coach is among the youngest in FBS and has been known for his ability to connect with his players. In fact, he’s even admitted to making some solid connections with the parents of his recruits.

Nevertheless, Kingsbury dismissed three players from the team this off-season who were later charged with burglary. Perhaps he needs to enlist the help of more “girls.”
