Texans sign running back Andre Brown
The Houston Texans have signed running back Andre Brown.
The former New York Giants running back replaces Ben Tate as the backup to Arian Foster after Tate signed with the Cleveland Browns in March.
Foster rushed for 542 yards in eight games before going on injured reserve and undergoing back surgery.
Brown, 27, broke his leg in each of the past two seasons.
He averaged 5.3 yards per carry during the 2012 season, but was limited to 3.5 yards per carry last season.
