Terrelle Pryor believes Browns can win out, DeAngelo Williams disagrees

I’m sure you are aware of the misery that is the Cleveland Browns — an NFL franchise that’s never won a Super Bowl, hasn’t made the playoffs since 2002 and inspired a diehard fan to build a faux graveyard for the litany of quarterbacks who have slumped through the Dawg Pound this century.

That same organization has started three quarterbacks in its first three games of this season, all losses, so things aren’t exactly looking up for Cleveland’s football fans. But that’s not stopping Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, who also took several snaps at QB on Sunday, from remaining optimistic

“We’re so close to getting over that hump,” said Pryor, per Cleveland.com. “Once we get over that hump, I think we’re going to have a lot of success, even this year. … I think we can win all the rest of the games. It depends on our mindset. It depends on how we look at it. It’s just one week at a time.”

Obviously, every player in the NFL should enter each game believing his team can win, but let’s pause for a moment to appreciate that Pryor just suggested the Cleveland freaking Browns — one of just four winless teams left this season and an organization that hasn’t even won two consecutive games since November 2014 — will win 13 straight to close out the regular season and presumably keep that momentum going on their way to the first Super Bowl in franchise history. Honestly, that might be the funniest thing we hear all season. Even the most loyal of Browns fans is probably laughing right now.

Even if the Browns manage to beat the Redskins in Washington this weekend with rookie third-round pick Cody Kessler starting under center, Cleveland then faces the New England Patriots in Tom Brady’s first game back from suspension. The Browns might as well be 24-point underdogs entering Week 5.

I hope you’ve got your breath from all that laughing, because Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams, who has two meetings left with the Browns on his calendar this season, dropped a solid one-liner that might explain Pryor’s rationale for his team winning out. “Maybe he was talking about Ohio State,” Williams posted on his Instagram, referencing Pryor’s unbeaten alma mater.

Or maybe Pryor has been hanging out with fellow Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon a little too much.
