Taylor Swift Just Sent a Loud and Clear Political Message—Via Cookies

Taylor Swift is using her platform to speak out about politics yet again. Ever since the singer broke her political silence during the 2018 midterm election, Swift has upped the ante by using her voice to support candidates and spread awareness about causes more and more. And yesterday afternoon, in preparation for the 2020 vice presidential debate, the Folklore songwriter endorsed the democratic candidates in the most Taylor Swift way possible: with custom cookies.

On October 7th, Swift posted to Instagram promoting her recent interview with V Magazine: The Thought Leaders Issue, in which a wide variety of celebrities revealed who they're voting for in the 2020 presidential election and why. Of course, T-Swift, being T-Swift, included a photo of herself holding a plate of custom cookies that read "Biden Harris 2020" in red, white, and blue icing (which looks delicious, BTW). Swift is also wearing a gold necklace that reads "Voter."

"Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies 🍪💪😘" Swift wrote.

What we would have given to have spent the night eating cookies and yelling at the TV with Taylor Swift. In her interview with V Magazine, the 10-time-Grammy-winner spoke about the changes she wants to see in America, and how she believes that Biden and Harris are the right leaders to drive that change.

"The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included," Swift said.

"Everyone deserves a government that takes global health risks seriously and puts the lives of its people first. The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them," she continued.

Swift concluded by "proudly" proclaiming who she is casting her ballot for this year.

“I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election," Swift said. "Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.”

Joe Biden himself responded to Swift's tweet, thanking the singer for her support. The presidential candidate even included a pun on Swift's lyrics writing, "Election Day is right around the corner — are you ready for it?" Dare we say Biden is a Swiftie?
