Taremi recognises ‘big opportunity’ for Inter vs. Arsenal
Mehdi Taremi warns Inter face a ‘very tough’ Champions League tie against Arsenal this evening, but it represents a ‘big opportunity’ for him to partner Lautaro Martinez.
It kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 GMT.
Despite this arguably being one of the biggest matches of the Champions League group stage, the Nerazzurri have opted to rest several big players ahead of the Scudetto clash with Serie A leaders Napoli this weekend.
Hakan Calhanoglu returns for his first start in over a month, but Marcus Thuram, Nicolò Barella, Federico Dimarco, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alessandro Bastoni are rested.
Taremi finds new Inter partner
“This match is very tough, we are facing a team that has a lot of quality and great players,” Taremi told Inter TV.
“We prepared well, knowing that it is going to be a difficult game.”
The Iran international receives his fourth start in the Inter jersey, but while before he was partnered with Thuram or Marko Arnautovic in the Champions League, this time he forms a pairing with Lautaro Martinez.
“It is a big opportunity, I always try to do my best. My focus is on doing a good job.”
The 32-year-old found the net once in the Inter jersey so far this season, also providing two assists in the 4-0 victory over Crvena Zvezda on October 1.
