Tannehill inactive, Osweiler starts for Dolphins

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill was inactive for the Miami Dolphins' game against the Chicago Bears because of an injury to his throwing shoulder, and Brock Osweiler made his first start for the team.

Tannehill was limited in Friday's workout — the first time he has missed practice time because of the injury. It began bothering him last month, and he was first on an injury report the week of Sept. 24.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end David Irving is active for the first time this season against Jacksonville after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy and missing his first possible game back for personal reasons.

Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey is active after being listed as questionable with a knee injury. Ramsey showed up on the injury report for the first time Thursday.

Running back Leonard Fournette had already been ruled out by Jacksonville because of a hamstring injury.

Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins is active after missing three games with a knee injury. Linebacker Sean Lee had already been ruled out for the third straight week with a hamstring injury.

The Jaguars are on their third starter at left tackle with Josh Walker. Ereck Flowers was inactive for Jacksonville two days after signing following his release by the New York Giants. Flowers was added when Josh Wells was put on injured reserve.

Rams receivers Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp are both active against the Denver Broncos.

Cooks and Kupp both missed the second half last week against Seattle after being diagnosed with concussions. Cooks was injured on a hit from safety Tedric Thompson and Kupp hit his head on the ground. Cooks has 26 receptions for 452 yards and a TD and Kupp has 30 catches for 438 yards and five TDs.

Both Cooks and Kupp have experience playing in the cold —it's 19 degrees in Denver— as Cooks played in New England last season and Kupp played at Eastern Washington.

The Tennessee Titans will be without linebacker Wesley Woodyard for a second straight game. The linebacker was the team's leading tackler when he hurt his shoulder early in an overtime win over Philadelphia on Sept. 30. They also will be without veteran linebacker Will Compton because of a hamstring injury, leaving the Titans depending on second-year Jayon Brown and rookie Rashaan Evans inside against Baltimore.

Panthers tight end Greg Olsen was active after missing three games with a broken foot. Redskins running back Chris Thompson (rib/knee) and wide receiver Jamison Crowder (ankle) were inactive, though receiver Josh Doctson was good to go with a sore heel.

Rookie kicker Michael Badgley made his NFL debut for the Chargers, replacing Caleb Sturgis, who has been sidelined with a quad injury. Badgley was the sixth kicker used in Anthony Lynn's 22 games with L.A.

Also, the Chargers were without starting right tackle Joe Barksdale because of a knee injury.

Browns wide receiver Beshard Perriman was inactive after being signed Saturday, leaving Cleveland thin at wide receiver following injuries to Rashard Higgins and rookie Derrick Willies.

Seahawks tight end Nick Vannett did not play against the Oakland Raiders at Wembley Stadium because of a back injury.

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook was out for the third time in the past four games because of a hamstring injury. Latavius Murray again started in his place.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were without cornerback Carlton Davis for the game in Atlanta. He missed his first game of the season with groin and back injuries.

But defensive tackle Beau Allen (foot) was back on the field after missing the past two games. Safety Jordan Whitehead, who missed the Week 4 loss to Chicago with a shoulder ailment, also returned.

The Falcons were without running back Devonta Freeman (foot) and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (ankle). Freeman has played in only two games this season, having earlier been sidelined by a knee problem, while Jarrett missed his second straight game.
