Syracuse kicker Cole Murphy hit a 40-yard field goal to cut No. 8 Miami’s lead to 13-6 in the third quarter.

It wasn’t the prettiest field goal. Well, the kick was fine, but Murphy slipped and fell on his butt and still somehow managed to drill the ball between the uprights with plenty of distance to spare.

Murphy’s plant foot totally gave out. It’s a minor miracle he was able to make the kick. He knew it, too, and celebrated with a nice fist pump.

Murphy, who hit a 22-yarder in the second quarter, ended up hitting two more field goals — from 45 and 53 yards — but it wasn’t enough. Ultimately, after cutting Miami’s lead to 20-19, the Orange fell, 27-19.

Murphy has now made 16-of-18 field goal attempts on the season.
