Stephen A. Smith suggests interesting name as potential Bears HC candidate

Over the course of the remaining five games in the Chicago Bears season, there will be plenty of speculation regarding who will be the head coach in the 2025 season. A job opportunity that should be highly-coveted for NFL coaches looking to become a head coach, Chicago will not be short of suitors when it comes to who they have available for their hiring process.

On Monday's edition of "First Take" on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith threw out a name as the next coach for the Bears that has rarely been mentioned.

Having been an offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and currently with the Philadelphia Eagles, Kellen Moore was the name that Smith believes could be a good fit in Chicago. While many have speculated over the idea of either Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson or Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, the mention of Moore was the first time that name has been tossed around the upcoming Bears vacancy.

"I got no problem with Kellen Moore being named the head coach of the Chicago Bears," Smith said. "When you consider what he did as offensive coordinator in Dallas when they had a top-2 ranked offense, clearly that would be his priority. After Eberflus, my priority would be really elevating the quarterback, I need an offensive-minded coach."

Proclaiming rookie quarterback Caleb Williams as the future of this team, Smith said that the top priority for the franchise moving forward is to go all in Williams. Moore's name has not been mentioned much around the Bears vacancy, but with his continued success as offensive coordinator, it would not be surprising to see his name be given consideration.
