Stephan Bonnar Looks Forward to UFC 153 Bout Against Anderson Silva: Fan Reaction

"Ultimate Fighter" season one finalist, Stephan Bonnar's, April 2005 battle against Forrest Griffin made him an integral part of MMA history, and he'll get another chance to etch his name unto the history books when he faces Anderson Silva at UFC 153.

The Silva vs. Bonnar matchup was added to the UFC 153 fight card, after Jose Aldo and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson pulled out due to injuries. The event will take place on Oct. 13, at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Bonnar will be a huge underdog going into his fight against MMA's pound-for-pound king, but that doesn't seem to bother "The American Psycho." As far as Bonnar is concerned, his fight against Silva is the opportunity of a lifetime, and he plans to make the most out of it.

"I think it really set in [Sunday] that I'm fighting Anderson Silva. I'm still a little bewildered," Bonnar said during an interview with "He's the best guy on everyone's pound-for-pound list, he's got 15 straight UFC victories, been a champion for six years or so. It's great, though, because I feel like I have nothing to lose. Fighting Anderson in his backyard, I'm a record-setting underdog. I couldn't ask for anything more."

Obviously, the fight between the two favors Silva on paper, but it wouldn't be wise to count Bonnar out. The Indiana native isn't exactly the meanest looking guy in the UFC, but his toughness is second to none.

I don't think Bonnar is skilled enough to dominate Silva, but his tenacity might just lead him to victory.

Bonnar has never been truly stopped in his professional MMA career (he does have two TKO losses due to cuts), and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes the distance against Silva. That gives him 25-minutes to try and land that one big shot that can potentially bring Silva's 15-fight win streak to an end.
