Steph Curry continues family's busy All-Star weekend with visit to Davidson student section
In case you were wondering, the citizens of Davidson, North Carolina, are still very much fans of Steph Curry.
With the NBA All-Star game in Charlotte this year, Curry decided to pay a visit to Davidson’s game against Saint Joseph’s on Friday. However, the Golden State Warriors superstar didn’t exactly spend the entire game quietly watching from his seat.
Via the Associated Press:
At one point he tipped over a beer under his seat. He gave an incredulous look and pumped his fist when 6-foot-10 freshman center Luka Brajkovic threw a no-look over-the shoulder pass to teammate KiShawn Pritchett for an easy layup. And he clapped to “Cotton-Eyed Joe” at the halftime show featuring kids performing a Wizard of Oz dance routine.
After Davidson pulled off the 80-72 win to take the division lead in the Atlantic 10 and move to 12-0 at home this season, Curry hit the student section. The students, including a group of speedo-clad fans, were more than happy to see one of their school’s most famous alumni.

The basketball program was probably quite happy to see Curry as well, as he came bearing gifts in the form of new Under Armour jerseys and shoes.

Overall, it has been an incredibly eventful weekend for the Curry family. Steph’s mother, Sonya, nailed an underhanded half-court shot to win a Curry Family Foundation event in Charlotte, while his little brother Seth reportedly got engaged to Doc Rivers’ daughter, Callie, on Thursday. Then the 3-point contest went down Saturday, in which Steph finished as the runner-up behind the Brooklyn Net’s Joe Harris.
Curry had another blast from the past during the event, wearing the same style of jacket he wore during the last time the All-Star game was in Charlotte.
