Stauber Joins Elite List Of NHL Goalies With Amazing Record

Utah Hockey Club's third-string goalie, Jaxson Stauber, may not be their third string much longer.

After their 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers yesterday, he now joins an elite list of NHL goalies who have the most wins through their first eight NHL appearances in NHL history.

He currently sits second on the list with seven wins in eight games, only behind Martin Jones (2013-14) and Bob Froese (1982-83), who had eight.

He is tied with the likes of Spencer Knight (2020-21 & 2021-22), Igor Shesterkin (2019-20), and Fredrik Andersen (2013-14), as well as four others.

Stauber has been lights out this season for Utah. However, interestingly enough, the record hasn't come in just one season. His last NHL appearance was in 2022-23. Which means the record of 7-1-0 has been split between the 2022-23 season and the current 2024-25 season.

That in itself is incredible because of his constancy at the NHL level while missing an entire season in the NHL.

In 2022-23, the 25-year-old was a member of the Chicago Blackhawks and went 5-1-0 in six games with a 2.81 GAA and a .911 SV%.

This season with Utah HC, he has done 2-0-0 in two games with a 1.00 GAA and a .962 SV%.

That brings his career record to 7-1-0, as well as a 2.36 GAA and a .922 SV%.

What an incredible start to Stauber's career!
