St. Louis Blues Player Of The Game vs. Vancouver Canucks: Dylan Holloway

To say Dylan Holloway is on a heater would be putting it mildly for the St. Louis Blues right now.

The forward has been riding a high since the Blues made their coaching change from Drew Bannister to Jim Montgomery on Nov. 24 with a six-game point streak and there was nothing to say he would be stopped on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks to conclude the Blues' four-game Canadian road trip.

Nobody ever predicts things would go in this fashion, but Holloway put the finishing touches on a 'Hollywood' performance scoring the game-winner in overtime of a 4-3 win over the Canucks at Rogers Arena on Tuesday.

Holloway also had an assist in the game to give him four multi-point games since Mongomery took over and 11 points during his seven-game point streak (six goals, five assists).

His points are impressive enough, but there was a shift late in the game and the Blues holding a 3-2 lead -- one in which the Canucks would eventually tie it with 1:52 left --where Holloway was on the ice, blocked two shots, then had the wherewithal to outrace Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers to a puck, push it into the offensive zone and help create offensive zone time.

But boy, did Holloway score a beauty to win the game, taking a Robert Thomas pass in stride up the right side, race past a speedy Jake DeBrusk, who scored the tying goal to make it a 3-3 game, before a quick forehand short side on Thatcher Demko:

Holloway, who now has 19 points (10 goals, nine assists) in 29 games, also made a terrific read on the Blues' first goal scored by Zack Bolduc when he won he puck along the left wall of Demko's backhand rim, moved into the corner and found Bolduc for a high-slot one-timer to tie the game 1-1 just 1:13 after the Canucks took the lead:

Things are going so good for Holloway these days, there are only three players with more points since the coaching change:

Holloway is averaging roughly 16.5 minutes of ice time per game and he's a plus-7 he past seven games. Tuesday, he played 17:04 and was a plus-2 with a team-high five shots (seven attempts), two hits and four blocked shots.
