St Johnstone manager Craig Levein told BBC Sportsound: "The third goal is the vital one. If they get it, they're back in the match. I'm a little disappointed that we got clawed back to 2-2, but all credit to the players, after that they could have easily felt sorry for themselves.

"You've got to accept that this was a closely fought contest. I'm sure Stuart will be reasonably happy with his players coming back. I'm reasonably happy with some of the stuff we've played. I'm disappointed with the fact we lost two goals in the second half.

"It knocked us, we got spooked. There are things in there, with those two goals, that are easily rectifiable. Shutting off that corridor across the face of goal, we can fix that. It takes time to get these messages across to the players. Their effort today was fantastic. The supporters appreciate that.

"Some of it was good today, we got the ball switched well, we advanced up the park with safe possession and we created chances. That's another important thing. We haven't scored much this season, we scored two today and could have had more.
